Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA) have appointed former Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon and Aigle Royal of Menoua boss Joseph Brian Ndoko to take over as the lead tactical personnel of the club, kick442.com has learned this Monday.

The club made the decision on Sunday, December 10 after a meeting to review its recent performances this season in the MTN Elite Two championship under coach Ayme Nlend.

Though the club occupies the fourth and last playoffs positions in Pool B of the championship, they are winless in their last five games – picking up two points from a possible 15 in that time, thus explaining the decision from it’s board.

Ndoko, 51, signed a deal for the rest of the season with the option of a further year and will start work on December 15 ahead of the club’s match day seven game against Leopard Sportif of Douala next Wednesday.

Sources told kick442.com that although the club spoke to a number of candidates after deciding to improve their staff Ndoko was identified as their first choice early in the process and has agreed to work closely with coach Nlend as co-trainer, Mbock Maput as technical director, Mwambo Awolos as goalkeeper trainer and Teteh Edwin as fitness coach.

Ndoko’s experience, standards of excellence, leadership qualities and character is expected to serve ISOHSA of Limbe well as they move forward.

Ndoko led Cameroon’s women’s team to the semi-final of the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Ghana and helped his country qualify for the 2019 Women’s FIFA World Cup in France. That performance earned him nomination for the CAF coach of the year award in 2019.

The former DAC 2000 and Aigle Royal of Menoua trainer had been out of work since leaving the West Region outfit in their running to promotion to Elite One football last season.

Coach Ndoko met ISOHSA players on Monday in training and will manage his first training session on Thursday at the Limbe Community Field while waiting for official presentation by the club’s communication unit.

Ndoko, masterminder of the career development of the likes of Etta Bawak, Armel Nguene II amongst others.
