South West representative, Isle of Hope Sports Academy have made it to the semi final of the National Interpools following a 3-2 win over Academie Nyom II from the center region, thanks to a brace from Tommy Eben and another goal from Albert Tiku.

Tommy Eben scored the first two goals in less than five minutes to the end of the first half and a second half goal from Egbe Tiku secured the spot in the semi final of the competition for the very first time in their participation.

The early minutes of the game saw a tense fight as both sides sought to take the lead and efforts from the striking compartment were futile. Goalkeeper Kelvin Ashu’s heroics cancelled a majority Nyom’s attempts.

Nine minutes after half the hour mark, Tommy Eben got the crowd to their feet’s when he netted a stunning goal from inside the box beating the defenders to outsmart helpless goalkeeper Samuel. Brandon Babo gave the assist.

Three minutes after the 39’ opener, Eben recorded his brace, thanks to an assist from midfield sensation, Chi Alex.

The Limbe boys took the 2-0 lead to the break and upon resuming, the coach made two changes at the attack compartment, bringing out Eben and Alex for Dieudonne Onega and Ivan Vachet.

Samuel Oloa pulled one back at the 64th minute, taking advantage of a defense blunder to outsmart goalkeeper Kelvin Ashu.

Coach Nlend Ayme raised eyebrows when he brought out prolific central defense man, Tuborg Kingsley for Ashu Cerezo and it was the later who caused the team the second goal after carelessly bringing down an opponent striker in the box.

Kelvin Ashu could not save loic Kouley’s penalty kick which made it 3-2, causing the game to be much more tensed and pressure mounted on the SW representative.

However, ISOHSA carried the day as the score line remained unchanged at the sound of the referee’s final blast, marking the end of the road for the Center representative.

This means ISOHSA moves up to gop position with now eight points, while waiting for the outcome of the second pool B game to know who finishes top of the pool.
