AS Fortuna’s forwards, Christiane Kiki Meva, Bernice Azang and Brunda Ingrid’s goal sealed a 4-2 win over Caiman ladies of Douala, in matchday seven of the Guinness Super League at the Bepanda Annex stadium.

The first two goals of the encounter came from Christiane, who put the visitors ahead at the 35th minute through a header.

Caiman threatened to wake up from slumber after conceding but their efforts yielded no fruits. Instead, they were made to pay for their blunder a second time by Christiana Kiki still.

The AS Fortuna forward found the back of goalkeeper Patience Blessing’s net for the second time in the first half, deep into added time.

A 2-0 lead for AS Fortuna seperated both sides for the break.

Barely five minutes into the second segment, Berenice Simone Azang positioned herself a few meters away from the center circle and then smartly sent a long one to the back of Caiman’s net.

The host squandered a few goal scoring opportunities they had given that Fortuna almost all of the second half.

But just how they conceded the first two, Edwige Gaëlle Nsali took advantage of an unintentional error to pull one back after a Fortuna defender failed to successfully clear danger in the box.

Five minutes thereafter, AS Fortuna break into Caiman’s defense wall once again and this time, Brunda Ingrid Ruth’s header from a corner kick made it 4-1.

Edwige who arguably was the playmaker for Caiman, won her side a late penalty after she was brought down in the box. Brenda Ebobisse Elame converted the penalty.

However, the two goals pulled back were insufficient for the host to share the points. The game ended 4-2 in favour of AS Fortuna.

AS Fortuna came into this game fourth on the league’s table. They have now earned 15 points after this victory over Caiman.

Caiman Ladies on the other hand, have managed to win just one game so far this season and that was a 2-1 victory over Ngadeu FFA.
