Guinness Super League leaders Lekie FF, have failed to win a game for the first time this season, following their zero all draw against FC Ebolowa in one of day eight fixtures.

In a highly contested game at the Olembe Annex B stadium on Saturday evening, Stéphane Ndzana’s side failed to hit the back of the net for the first time this season.

Lekie FF started life without one of their top scorers Ngah Manga, who left for Lokomotiv Moscow, but welcomed back star forward Brenda Tabe, who has featured in just three games due to her involvement with the indomitable lionesses.

Coach Kpoumie Oudou of FC Ebolowa set up a good game plan to stop the offensive moves of Brenda Tabe and Raissa Nnanga, and defender Annecy Nguidem was key in executing the game plan, as her solid display earned her the Woman of the match award.

On the other end, Mogai Lewyo, Ladifatou Adjidja and Codelia Achang, did well to keep Juliet Tufoin, Samenta Keyack and co at bay.

Lekie FF had won their six previous games coming into Saturday’s game. FC Ebolowa is the first team to keep a clean sheet against Lekie FF this season, forcing them to dropping points.

Ladifatou Adjidja and her teammates have scored 21 goals in their previous six games, conceding just three goals. They have now kept five clean sheets in seven games, with a game at hand against Canon FF. Despite Saturday’s draw, Lekie FF stays top of the league with 19 points, two points clear of second place Éclair FF.

Éclair outsmarts defending Champions

In the first game at the Olembe Annex B stadium on Saturday, Éclair FF of Sa’a defeated AS AWA FF 2-1.

AS AWA had opened scores at the 17th minute of play through Annie Félicien Enganaben, but a second half brace from Eliane Bibout, completed a turn around for Eclair and secured them all three points as they move up to the second spot on the classification table.

It is now the fifth defeat of the Season for defending Champions AS AWA, who have won just one game.
