Amazone FAP’s forward Bongben Buh Confidence, netted the fastest goal of the 2022-2023 Guinness Super League season, in her side’s 5-1 bashing of Caiman FF on Thursday.

Amazone FAP defeated Caiman FF at the Ngoa Ekelle Stadium on Thursday, in a delayed day eight fixture of the Guinness Super League.

Mike Ndoumou’s Amazone FAP came into the game after recording their first win of the season 2-0 in their last outing against Eding FF on February 18, and have now made it two consecutive wins for the first time this season.

Amazone FAP’s starting XI versus Caïman

It took Buh Confidence just 25 seconds after kick-off, to raise the curtains, when she fired pass goalkeeper Carhelle Ndemba of Caïman FF, the earliest a player has scored this season in the Guinness super league. Farida Machia formerly of Lekie FF, had scored a similar goal after 25 seconds, against Louves Minpproff.

Confidence who has now recorded two goals, two assists and a woman of the match award this season, made it two-nil with a superb finish at the fourth minute of the game, before Linda Ngatchou made it a treble of goals within the first 10 minutes of the game.

Cameroon international Rita Wanki made it 4-0 at the half an hour mark, as Amazone FAP took a four goals lead to the break.

Brenda Ebobisse pulled one back for Caïman with an excellent free kick with  19 minutes left to play, but Esterine Nyebe restored Amazone FAP’s four goals lead, with neat finish at the 80th minute, her second goal of the season.

Thursday’s win takes Amazone FAP’s points tally to seven points and have now recorded back-to-back wins in what could be a turnaround for the multiple champions.

“I told you since the beginning that Amazone FAP was playing good football but unfortunately we were not able to score goals. But for sometimes now you can see that they have started coming. For the past days we have laid emphasis on finishing and I think It’s paying off,” Coach Mike Ndoumou of Amazone FAP said after the game.

“The girls played as a group and were determined and we said it should not look like we won by luck the last time,” Ndoumou added.
