Uganda Steven Mukwala scored yet another brace as Asante Kotoko beat Accra lions 4-0 in the Betpawa Ghana Premier League on Monday evening.
It was a show piece again for the centre forward at Babayara Sports Stadium in the much needed win for the porcupine warriors after suffering defeat to Karela united in the previous league game.
Mukwala who joined the Ghana giants in August from Uganda Premier league side URA is turning out to be real deal to the fans and club with his recent performances.
He has scored five goals in the last five appearances and currently second on the chase for the golden shoe tied on eight goals ,one behind Berekum Chelsea’s Mezack Afriyie.
Mukwala’s contribution has been top notch ,5 assists to his name showing how crucial is for the warriors despite finding back of the net.
“𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 I feel better when I score a brace and the team wins , basically we haven’t found our shoes yet ,we have had a few struggles but we are preparing well for the second round ” Mukwala’s post match remarks.
The fans were heard chanting his name “ 𝑴𝒖𝒌𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒂 𝑴𝒖𝒌𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒂 ” at the end of full time whistle after the Monday action.
Many people in his native country Uganda are already expectant how Mukwala shouldn’t miss on Micho’s national call up list due to his form and performance incase Uganda Cranes are to play games in the next months.
Asante Kotoko are now second on the log table with 27 points after match day 16 ,4 points less table leaders Aduana stars.
