Bamboutos FC of Mbouda recorded a comfortable 3-0 win against AS Fortuna this Wednesday on match day four of the 2023/24 MTN Elite One championship courtesy a commanding display from their Ghanaian import who took his season tally to three.

Second-half goals from Ghanaian forward Samson Kwasi, full-back Manga Mbah Carlain and an additional time strike from Bangagbi Nguesset complete the rout on the afternoon Fortuna looked far the team that didn’t concede in it’s opening two games of the season.

The opening half of the game produced very few talking points with the major being the sending off of Fortuna’s Vladimir Tamara after a reckless challenge on Malie Rane Abdel of Bamboutos FC.

The contest looked tight and headed for far from a three-nil win after 65 goalless minutes.

It took another Kwasi moment to break the deadlock. The confident Ghanaian received a ball into the right channel, twisted and directed it into the bottom corner of goalkeeper Fansu Ismael’s net to make it 1-0 and justify coach Asare Bediako’s trust though he had fluffed his lines earlier in the game.

Manga dispatched one of his trademark goals to make it 2-0 before Bangagbi rounded the scoring in the fourth minute of added time to record the biggest win of the season for the Mangwa Boys.

When Ehanga Claude drew the conclusion at the Stade de Mbouda, fans of the home side couldn’t hold back their satisfaction as not only did they watch their team win, they played well and could have scored more.

The latest result takes their points tally to six points ahead of the crunch contest against fellow high-flying Dynamo of Douala on the road.

Fortuna will hope to bounce back against struggling Colombe of Dja and Lobo.
