Paul Mucureezi scored the lone goal of the game as Kitara FC pipped Kaaro Karungi 1-0 on the final day to clinch the 2022/23 FUFA Big League title.

The royals accumulated 61 points after 30 games ,one point above second placed Mbarara City.

Elsewhere ,the Ankole lions secured a 3#0 victory over Northern Gateway on return to the top flight.

In Mbale , NEC picked maximum points over Kataka to earn promotion while Police FC shared spoils with Jinja North in a 1-1 stalemate.

Farouk Yawe was named the best goalkeeper after scooping 12 clean sheets all season while Ankole lions forward Henry kitegenyi grabbed the MVP award.

The Royals won the Fair Play award which was received by skipper Maxwell Owachgiu.

Kitara FC , Mbarara City and NEC FC were promoted to the Uganda Premier league for the 2023/24 season after finishing in the top 3 positions.
