After a week of intense competition between three top clubs in the UNIFFAC zone, it has boiled down to a last dance pitting Epah Ngamba against Huracanes FC.

In this roller coaster tourney that initially had four teams, later brushed down to three, due to AS AWA’a absence, fans have been made to wait on the edge for the divisive last fixture.

Epah Ngamba and Huracanes had different fortunes when the tourney kick-started on Friday, September 8.

Hosts Huracanes FC of coach Severino Oyana started its campaign with a victory over TP Mazembe.

Huracanes led for long periods after goals from Elena Obomo and Catalina Andeme. The Estadio National de Malabo was shocked to silence when Mazembe halved deficit through Lagoali Kreto and eventually pulled parity courtesy Dikisha Esther.

Nonetheless, Elena’s double picked maximum points for Hurricanes with 13 minutes left on the clock.

In the aftermath of that defeat to Huracanes, TP Mazembe went on to defeat Epah Ngamba in a hotly contested rivalry between the clubs from the Congos.

Two first half goals from Dikisha Esther and Lagoali Kreto (all scoring for the second time in the tourney), propelled the cup holders to a two-nil victory.

Upcoming on Thursday at primetime is the crunch fixture pitting Epah Ngamba against Huracanes.

A win or draw for Huracanes sees them replace TP Mazembe as zonal champions.

Meanwhile, if logic is defied with a four-nil win in favor of Epah Ngamba over Huracanes, Epah Ngamba claims the trophy.

A win for Epah Ngamba by less than four goals will mean Mazembe clutch the trophy for the second year in a spin.

All remains possible, and Estadio National de Malabo is the place to be at 15:00 CAT for the historic encounter.
