Ambitious West Regional championship club, Stade Bandjoun FC raised the sum of 16 millions FCFA on Monday in an extraordinary general assembly meeting organized by its board chair to discuss the way forward 24 hours after they qualified for the semi-final of the Cup of Cameroon.
Stade Bandjoun beat Stade Bertoua 4-3 on post-match penalties on Saturday at the Ngoa Ekelle stadium to advance to their first Cup of Cameroon semi-final in 27 years.
In the wake of the groundbreaking achievement and in preparation for their quarter-final game of the Regional championship playoff, board chair Kouinche Albert rallied the club’s fans and sympathizers who raised up to 16 millions FCFA for the rest of their ride this term.
Stade under coach Joseph Victor K is doing well at the club, thus making it easy to generate funds from the satisfied fans. The club has only suffered one defeat in 15 games this season.
Stade Bandjoun plans to raise 45 Million FCFA for the rest of their season which continues on Wednesday with a clash against AS Polytek de Bansoa.
