Southwest Futsal championship keeps Buea busy

Match round one and two of the 2023 Southwest Futsal championship produced fireworks on Tuesday at the University of Buea Sports complex as the long-awaited event finally got underway.

Cinyodev FA of Buea, Options Sports Academy and Yellow Team produced stellar performances which earned two commanding victories and a spot in the semi-final of the championship which has 12 clubs grouped in three pools.

Cinyodev FA, Options Sports Academy of Limbe and Yellow Team Buea won their respective Pools with six points from two games and are joined in the semi-final by Aljazeera Sports Academy of Muyuka who finished second in Pool C.

The best four sides advanced to Tuesday’s semi-final with Options set to meet Aljazeera in the first semi-final at 9AM while Cinyodev FA face Yellow Team in the second game at 10AM.

The winner of the semi-finals will play the final that is scheduled to start at 1PM at the campus of the University of Buea.

In a related development, the Women’s selection of Volcanic Warriors clashes with Nkongteh Sports Academy at 11:15AM.

As it has been the case from the beginning, all matches shall be played at the University of Buea handball court.
