Raissa Tchomte’s solo strike helps Fortuna past struggling Dja Sports

Struggling AS Fortuna Ladies of Mfou have won a Guinness Super League championship match for the first time in five outings in the competition this 2023/24 season.

Melanie Zeutsop and mates edged struggling Dja Sports Academy by one Raissa Linda Tchomte’s goal to nothing on Wednesday in a match day nine fixture at the Olembe Annex stadium in Yaoundé.

Tchomte’s well-taken penalty at the 63rd minute put the visitors ahead in the derby and set them on their way to secure maximum points.

Though Dja Sports played better after conceding and had a number of good chances, it wasn’t to be as Fortuna held on to win for the first time since the 2-1 win against Ita Mbong on November 11 in Bamenda.

The defeat amounts to two games without a win for Dja Sports – the second time it’s happening since their promotion to the top-flight in the build up to this season.
