Qatar 2022 WC Participants ranked: check out Cameroon and Ghana’s positions

FIFA has published the rankings of the 32 Nations which participated at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The publication on Sunday evening per the performances of the teams and results obtained marked the end of a great tournament in which Africa had five representative.

The Atlas Lions of Morocco who finished fourth in the tournament obviously occupied the fourth position overall and are the first in Africa while the Black Stars of Ghana where ranked 24th and in the lowest spot

Per the rankings, Cameroon have improved from the 32nd position in 2014 to the 19th position, only behind fourth-place Morocco and 16th finalist Senegal who are tenth on the general rankings.

The Carthage Eagles of Tunisia who beat defending champions France but bowed out in the group stage of the tournament are 21st per the FIFA rankings and just behind Cameroon in the continental standings.

Meanwhile, the lack Stars who came into the tournament as the lowest ranked team and beat South Korea but failed to get out of a group that had Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay finish on the 24th spot.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup climaxed last Sunday with a thrilling final which produced six goals and a first trophy in 36 years for Lionel Messi’s Argentina.

Messi scored twice for Argentina while Angel Did Maria got the other goal. However, a Kylian Mbappe hat-trick meant the matter was forced to penalties. Argentina edged it 4-2 in the shoot out to cap a record World cup tournament.

The full rankings have champions Argentina at the top while host Qatar who lost all three group games are the lowest ranked team at the tournament.

The 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup will be remembered for it’s beautiful spectacles and it’s suspense.
