Abia Angels player, Ndudim Amarachi has stated that it was an important win for Abia Angels against FC Robo Queens in the opening match of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership on Wednesday.

Amarachi who provided the assist for the Aba-based side’s lone goals expressed her joy in helping her team earn an opening day win.

“I feel very happy and pleased that I was able to create a chance for my team to win the match against FC Robo Queens. I am really happy and thank God for helping us win the game at home.” Ndudim told www.kick442.com

Nkechi Agams scored the lone goal as Abia Angels edged the Lagos Landladies 1-0 in Aba.

“Winning the first match of the season is really important for the team.” She continued. “We are happy that we got our three points here. It’s quite encouraging and gives us the motive to keep pushing further. The result is a good boost for the team.”

It’s always the dream of every player to win titles with their teams. The same thing applies to Ndudim Amarachi who outlined her personal and team goal for the season.

She said: “The way the club is right now, we can achieve more than we expect. We have the ability to face any team in the league at the moment. We are prepared and can achieve so many things in the league. Our main target is to get to the Super Six which is a dream for me to be there as well as for Abia Angels. It will be a record for me and for the team to make it to the Super Six. We just have to keep working hard to be able to qualify for the Super Six and possibly win the league. It’s an aim for me and my teammates and the team as a whole to win the league.”

Ann Chiejine’s team will next face Ibom Angels next Wednesday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium Training Pitch, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
