Heartland Queens left wing back, Chinyere Iheoma has said the reality of confronting her former side, Naija Ratels is one of her life’s little pleasures.
The premier leaguers will be meeting each other for the third time in the topflight in Wednesday’s NWFL Premiership matchday 5 clash at the military turf of Aguiyi Ironsi Stadium in FCT, Abuja.
The petite strong woman admitted that though the clash will be tough given the existing rivalries her side will emerge victorious at the end of the day.
“I am already super excited, it’s not going to be easy but for me to dress in blues playing against my former team is a real pleasure.
“I am going to show them that I remain a good player, going higher and doing better than I was previously. I am going to prove to them that I have become a far better player.
“I know it’s not going to be an easy game, they are good side but with the way I am seeing it we are going there for a win.
“Yes, they beat us home and away last season but this season things have really changed, the kind of football we are playing then and now is not the same.
“Our spirit is high at this moment, we are not going to underrate anyone but to continue doing our best to grab good results.
“They have good attackers in Naija Ratels, we the defenders have come together to talk to ourselves on how we will handle them. They have their own pattern of play, we are not going to play theirs, we are going to destroy their plans and do the real dirty work that will see us claim victory.
“Yes, it’s sure for us, three points or nothing, we are going there for winning, we are taking the points back home to make Imolites happy,” said the hard-as-nails defender to the club’s media.
Iheoma said she is deeply rooted in the Owerri mainstreams season’s Super Six ambition.
“Our target is Super Six ticket, any chance we see to make it real we are going to grab it with both hands, it’s our dreams and we are quite hopeful,” she enthused.
The Owerri land ladies are third on the eight-team Group A log on seven points from possible 12, one point adrift leaders, Nasarawa Amazons.
