Morocco continues to showcase itself as the Meccah of football in Africa as the North African country is expected to host a four nations’ 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) preliminary qualifiers.

The host of the next AFCON will welcome four teams for the preliminary qualifiers.

They are Djibouti, Liberia, South Sudan, and Sao Tome and Principe.

Slated for March 20 to 26, 2024, three stadiums will play host to the four nations’ tournament.

The opening match between Djibouti and Liberia will take place at the Grand Stade de Marrakech.

Stade El Abdi d’El Jadida will be the venue for the class between Somalia and Eswatini on the same day.

Stade Municipal de Berkane will stage two games involving Sao Tome and South Sudan on March 22.

It will also feature the game between South Sudan and Sao Tome on March 26.

The North African side has hosted different CAF tournaments and events in recent times like the CAF Awards, Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), CAF Women’s Champions League, and others.

It will also host this year’s WAFCON and next year’s AFCON.
