The club cheerfully announced on social media on Saturday February 10,2024 :

“FC Nantes is very pleased to announce the contract extension of Jean-Charles Castelletto, for two additional seasons. The Nantes defender is now linked with the Club des Rives de l’Erdre until 2028.

He is one of the captains of this yellow and green team and he has decided to continue under this tunic! Jean-Charles Castelletto (29 years old) feels good in the City of the Dukes of Brittany and this extension goes in this direction”.

The club wrote on their website;

Castelletto’s impact on and off the field since joining in 2020, has been invaluable, and FC Nantes is thrilled to have him continue wearing the yellow and green jersey.

As the team aims for success in domestic and international competitions, his experience and dedication will play a crucial role in achieving their goals.

“Winner of the Coupe de France during the 2021-2022 season, the one who has just played the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, is always a little more consistent in his performances at the heart of the Nantes defense .

Faithful to the position at the heart of the central hinge, Jean-Charles Castelletto also knows how to demonstrate versatility across the entire back line. Author of 120 matches in yellow and green in all competitions (3 goals, 1 assist), our number 21 has recently reached 100 Ligue 1 matches under the tunic of the Canaries, on February 3 in front of RC Lens (J20 )”.

The 29-year-old footballer, embarked on his professional journey at Auxerre. Over the years, he honed his skills while playing for several clubs, including Club Brugge, Royal Excel Mouscron, and Red Star. However, it was in 2020 that he found his home at Nantes.

He has also featured for Cameroon at the 2021 and 2023 Africa cup of nations , including the 2022 world. He has amassed over 25 appearances , netting two goals.
