- The third and fourth editions of the Bagofit event now have first lady patronage
- March 30th and 7th December 2024 have been picked as the dates for the third and fourth editions respectively
Organizers of the Bagofit Vtt Cycling Race have announced March 30th and December 7th as the next dates of the next two editions of the event.
The revelation was made after an evaluation meeting of the second edition in Yaoundé this November 28.
Addressing the media after the meeting, Honoré Yossi, President of the Cameroon Cycling Federation and Minister Joseph Anderson Lé, in charge of Public Service and Administrative Reform announced the third and fourth edition of the Bagofit Vtt bicycle race, to take place on March 30th and December 7th, 2024 respectively.
“At the end of the second edition of the Bagofit Vtt Cycling race, we wish to extend our heartfelt and sincere gratitude, on to all who contributed in making the event a huge success,” Joseph Anderson Lé said.
“The Bagofit Vtt race, could now be considered as, a new competition carried out within rural areas, on rough terrains. Henceforth, it will be considered as an extension of the Grand Prix Chantal Biya Race and the Cameroon Cycling tour and listed among competitions organized by the Cameroon Cycling Federation,” he added.
The second edition of the cultural and Bagofit Vtt bicycle race, which ended on November 25, is considered to be a huge success.
Thanks to the mammoth crowd from the East region, members of the diplomatic corps and state dignitaries that were present.
“Placing the subsequent editions, under the distinguished patronage of madam Chantal Biya, will equally bring other charitable institutions like CERAC CIRB and the Chantal Biya Foundation.”
“We intend to use the event as an opportunity, to bring together, all the economic operations from the East region and to expose the riches of the sun rising region,” minister Lé ended.
The following riders finished in top positions, in the 15km Master 1 race :

3-Aboubakar Touafick
4-Adama Aimé
5- Himpem Abdou
Master 2 race winners:
1- Foti Didier
2- Tabi Primus
3-Yana Anicet
Women’s race :
1- Ngono Oyoa
2- Obiloma Buena
3- Nnap Lathifa
In the local riders competition, Dohou Noutcha came first, followed by Pascal Lé and Kamgang Daniel on third spot.
The second phase of the competition, was graced by a prestigious cycling race, for the members of government and the diplomatic corps present.

The occasion also served as an ideal opportunity, for the people of the East region and those of Abong Mbang to expose their rich cultural savoir-faire, which cuts across culinary arts, music and art and crafts. And for the local authorities to demand more sports infrastructures in the locality.
