Che Malone Fondoh Junior and his Simba SC colleagues have arrived Cairo to begin preparing for the 2024/25 season.

The rejuvenated Ngovu Moja boys as they are fondly called arrived Cairo on Monday, July 8 and immediately moved to their base where they will stay for the next two weeks to train and improve their chances of a better campaign going into the next season.

Personally Che had a great debut season on the books of the club though it was an overall unsatisfactory season by the standards of the club.

Simba SC endured a difficult last season – finishing third to only get a place in the CAF Confederation Cup while eternal rivals Yanga SC claimed the league title for the second season running to the disappointment of the Simba SC faithfuls.

After reschuffling their squad, the Reds management are investing in the best possible preparation for the coming season to give themselves a greater chance of doing better than the 2023/24 campaign to forget.

Che and his team mates are expected to use their time in Egypt to build their complementarity, especially for the new players who have the tough task of clicking before the new campaign gets underway in a month’s time via the CAF Confederation Cup preliminaries.

Simba will sandwich training in Egypt with friendlies to test their might before returning home to prepare for the campaign which will see them compete for the CAF Confederation Cup, Tanzanian Premier League and Cup trophies.

The Tanzanian Premier League is expected to resume in September with Simba to renew their rival with Yanga SC, Azam FC amongst others eyeing the title every other season.
