Chantal Biya International Cycling Tour: Kribi elites reaffirm readiness for opening ceremony

Officials of the Cameroon Cycling Federation and elites of the Ocean division, have reaffirmed their support for the successful hosting of the opening ceremony, of the 23rd edition of the Grand Prix Chantal Biya International Cycling Race.

This was the outcome of a join meeting held in Kribi on September 29,at the Kribi City Council Ceremonial Hall,between the President of the Association for the Development of the Ocean division, Jules Doret Ndongo,who doubles as the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife. And Honoré Yossi, President of the Cameroon Cycling Federation accompany by his close collaborators.

The Benin cycling team have already set their bags in Kribi.While the Competition’s commissioner of Belgian descent Laurent Genetelli is expected in Cameroon on Saturday 30th.

This year’s Chantal Biya International Cycling race, is marked by the donation of a Military helicopter, offered by the Head of State, President Paul Biya for an efficient media coverage.

The competition shall unfold from October 2-7, 2023.With the Cameroon Telecommunications company, CAMTEL as the official sponsor.

Official Grand Prix Chantal Biya International Cycling Race schedule:

3/10/2023 : 1st lap : Kribi-Kribi (109 km)

4/10/2023 : 2 lap: Yaoundé-Ebolowa-Nkolandom (165,2 km)

5/10/2023 :3rd lap Ebolowa-Mengong-Sangmelima (104,2 km)

6/10/2023 : 4th lap Sangmelima-Avébé-Mvomeka-Meyomesalla (96,3 km)

7/10/2023 : 5th lap : Zoétélé-Yaoundé (118,9 km)

Cameroon will be represented in the cycling competition, by the Cameroon National selection and the SNH Velo Club. Alongside some 10 nations, notably ; Morocco, Algeria,Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast,France, Slovakia and Benin. The cycling race shall end on October 8th, with the Ongola Grand Prix over a distance of 100km.
