Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC have arrived Cameroon’s northern city of Garoua ahead of their crucial CAF Champions League game against Cotonsport FC.
Coach Marcel Koller’s Red Devils touched down on Wednesday evening via a chartered flight from South Africa where they spent the weekend after their previous game in the competition against Mamelodi.
Captain Mohamed Elshenawy, his colleagues and the rest of the delegation headed to their base at the Rebadou Hotel in Garoua just minutes after arriving.
Al Ahly SC beat Cotonsport 3-0 in the reversed fixture less than a fortnight ago in Cairo, but suffered a devastating 5-2 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend – which complicates their chances of finishing in the top two positions in group B.
The ten-time champions hope to win against Coton and wait for a favorable results between Sundowns and Hilal to enhance their chances of progressing from the group.
Coton will hold their official training ahead of the game at 9AM this Thursday at the Annex of the Roumde Adjia stadium while Ahly trains for the last time at the Roumde Adjia stadium at 5PM.
The fixture will be the tenth between both sides, of which Al Ahly have won six and other three ended in a draw.
