Cotonsport of Garoua continued their brilliant run in the 2023/24 MTN Elite One season with an impressive 4-0 win against APEJES of Mfou this Sunday on match day nine of the championship.

APEJES of Mfou were hoping to finally get their first win in seven outings this while Cotonsport where after their fourth win in a row and looking to extend their unbeaten run to five games for the first time this season.

Emmanuel Mahop climbed off the bench to score a brace while the day’s skipper Wassou Goue Patient and Issa Fadyl got the other goals in the statement victory at the Omnisport Annex stadium.

The 3pm kick-off in front of over half a thousand fans didn’t fail to hit top gear from the beginning as both sides looked nervy and luckluster in terms of their all-round game.

Fadyl lit up the clash when he whipped the ball past Ambassa Messobo in goal for the 2020 vice champions and put Coton 1-0 ahead just before the break.

Wassou doubled the advantage at the break before unleashing Mahop to complete the damage.

The striker shipped in from Canon Yaoundé after his golden boot winning season entered the frail in the final 11 minutes and scored in the 84th and 94th minutes to complete the rout on the day that summarized APEJES’ sorry season in which they are still running after their first victory.
