Sudanese giants Al-Merrikh SC have completed the signing of Cameroonian midfielder Wilfried Nathan Douala, with the 20-year-old joining from Canon Yaoundé in a move that marks an important step in his early career development.
Douala’s football journey has been shaped by a steady rise through Cameroonian clubs. He began his career at Oryx Douala, where he first stood out for his technical quality, energy, and ability to operate across midfield. His performances there earned him a move to Victoria United FC, where he made a strong impression in the domestic league.
At Victoria United, Douala developed further, gaining recognition for his versatility, pressing ability, and sharp transition play. His progress earned him a move to Canon Yaoundé, one of Cameroon’s most historic clubs, where he refined his tactical discipline and consistency in a more structured setup.
Al-Merrikh SC moved quickly to secure his signature ahead of domestic and continental competitions. The Sudanese side, one of the region’s most successful clubs and regular CAF competitors, are continuing their push to strengthen the squad with young African talent.
For Douala, the transfer is a major step forward, offering him his first experience outside Cameroon and a chance to prove himself in a more physical and competitive environment. At just 20, strong performances in Sudan could open doors to bigger opportunities across Africa and beyond.
