Cameroonian forward Ajara Nchout Njoya delivered an impressive individual performance with a brace on Friday night, but it was compatriot Bella Rose and her side Al-Ula who had the final say in the Saudi Women’s Cup third-place playoff.

In an all-Cameroonian showdown during the bronze medal match, Al-Ula edged Al-Qadsiah 3-2 in a thrilling encounter to secure third place in the competition. Despite Ajara’s two goals for Al-Qadsiah, her efforts were not enough to overturn a determined Al-Ula side, with Bella Rose finishing on the winning end of the contest.

The clash offered a notable moment for Cameroonian women’s football, as two Indomitable Lionesses faced off on the Saudi stage in a decisive fixture. Ajara once again underlined her attacking quality with a clinical display in front of goal, while Bella Rose added another positive chapter to her growing experience abroad.

The result brings the Saudi Women’s Cup campaign to an end for both Cameroonian internationals, who remained in Saudi Arabia following their respective club commitments.

Though neither side reached the final, both players leave the tournament with valuable minutes and continued visibility in one of the rapidly developing women’s football scenes in the Middle East.
