Those were the reassuring words of the team’s head coach Rigobert Song Bahanag, during the traditional pre-match press conference.
“Barely few hours to our first game against Guinea. I can assure you that, we have a fixed team and a fixed game style already put in place to give the country,it’s first win in the competition. Remember in a competition like this, winning the first game is always important”.
“We know Guinea is a good team, so we shall take the necessary measures, to put our opponents under difficult conditions”, he added.
As of now, the team has no player suffering from any injury, with the exception of Vincent Aboubakar with a minor injury. However, the team is highly spirited and motivated for Monday’s challenge.
“Regarding the case of Aboubakar, he is part of the team and is with us. As of now l can’t say whether he will be feed for the game or not.We boast of players in our team, who can play the same role like Vincent Aboubakar. So we don’t have a problem as for now”.
“It’s true we’ve played three times against Guinea, being led twice and picking a draw. But we respect them and wish to tell you that, the pass and the present will never be the same. If we’re here it’s because we want to change the story,” Song ended.
It is worthy of note, that Cameroon is lodge in group C alongside, The Gambia, Guinea and title holders Senegal.Cameroon finished on third place, during the last 2021 AFCON held on home soil.
