19-year-old Amazone FAP forward Suzie Mbianji, has become the first player from the Cameroon national football Academy (ANAFOOT) to be named player of the match [Woman of Guinnessico] in the Cameroon Women’s top-flight championship.
Mbianji scooped the accolade on Sunday following her exploits in her club’s 1-0 win against FC Ebolowa in match day 12 of the flagship women football competition in the country.
The young lady groomed by ANAFOOT tormented the FC Ebolowa defence all afternoon, scored the winner and bagged home the ‘Woman of Guinnessico’ prize after helping her club exact revenge on the southerners.
ANAFOOT products have been regular in the Guinness Super League championship in the past two seasons but the former U17 Lionesses skipper is the first player to win the prize.
“I’m very happy to receive this price. It’s my first time and I dedicate this to my mum. She encourages me daily. My objectives this season are clear; I need to be among the top scorers, if possible be the top scorer,” Mbianji told reporters post-match.

The forward’s third goal of the season was all FAP needed to beat FC Ebolowa and continue working to improve their situation in the league table.
“Our objective is to be in the top three,” Mbianji added.
Mbianji spent three years at ANAFOOT before moving to FAP in the build up to last season and has been a hit like other graduates.
These days ten graduates of ANAFOOT are on the books of Guinness Super League clubs and feature in league and other matches.
Though ANAFOOT went operational under a decade ago under the guidance of legendary Cameroonian trainer Enow Ngachu.The state-owned institution has created visible impact across-the-board through its graduates are littered across the different championships in the country.
