Cameroon international Naomi Eto has taken another major step in her rapidly developing career after completing a move from Paris Saint-Germain to Denver Summit FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
The 21-year-old forward has signed a contract running through the 2027 NWSL season, with Denver holding a team option for 2028. The transfer fee has not been disclosed, while Eto’s arrival in Colorado is subject to her obtaining a P-1 visa.
The move caps a remarkable period for Eto, who arrives in the United States fresh from helping Cameroon make history at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Eto played an important role in the Indomitable Lionesses’ historic campaign, contributing a goal and two assists during the tournament. She was particularly influential in the final against Malawi, scoring and providing an assist as Cameroon secured a 3-0 victory to win their first-ever WAFCON title and qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
From Yaoundé to the NWSL
Eto’s journey to one of the world’s leading women’s leagues has been rapid.
She began her senior career in Cameroon with Amazone FAP before moving to Europe, where she first played for French club En Avant Guingamp. She subsequently joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2025 before moving to Italy on loan with Sassuolo for the 2025/26 campaign.
With Sassuolo, Eto established herself as an important attacking option in Serie A, making 21 league appearances, 18 starts, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
That European experience now gives way to a new challenge in the United States, where she will join Denver Summit FC and continue her development in the highly competitive NWSL.
Another landmark move for a rising Lioness
Eto has already accumulated significant international experience despite her age.
She captained Cameroon at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, where the country reached the Round of 16 in its first appearance at the tournament. She scored three goals during the competition and was subsequently recognised as Cameroon’s 2023-24 Female Ballon d’Or winner.
Her latest move therefore represents more than a change of club. It is the latest chapter in the rise of a player who has moved from Cameroon’s domestic game to France, Italy and now the United States in a relatively short period.
Denver Summit FC will be hoping Eto can bring the same attacking qualities that have made her increasingly important to Cameroon, while the forward will see the NWSL as another opportunity to develop and establish herself at the highest level.
For Cameroon, the transfer is another sign of the growing international profile of its women’s footballers.
From Amazone FAP to PSG, Sassuolo and now Denver Summit FC — Naomi Eto’s journey continues on a bigger stage.
