Former Cameroon U17 international Aaron Bibout is rapidly emerging as one of the most exciting young strikers in Belgian football, with reports indicating that scouts from Chelsea FC were present during Racing Genk’s match against Royal Antwerp to closely monitor the 21-year-old forward.

The interest from the Premier League giants comes after Bibout’s impressive rise since joining KRC Genk from Swedish side Västerås SK in July 2025. The Cameroonian striker signed a four-year contract with the Belgian outfit and has quickly established himself as one of the club’s most promising attacking talents.

Born in Yaoundé, Bibout began his football journey at the famed Kadji Sports Academy before continuing his development in the United States with academies linked to Los Angeles FC and LA Galaxy. His breakthrough came with Ventura County FC, where his goalscoring form earned him promotion to LA Galaxy’s senior team in Major League Soccer.

After loan spells with Detroit City and FC Tulsa, Bibout moved to Sweden with Västerås SK in early 2025. His performances in the Swedish Superettan immediately attracted attention, as he scored six goals in just 12 league appearances before Genk secured his signature in a deal reportedly worth around €2.2 million.

Since arriving in Belgium, the former Cameroon U17 international has continued his rapid development. Standing at 1.93 metres, Bibout has impressed with his physical strength, aerial dominance and ability to play with his back to goal. He has featured for both Genk’s senior side and Jong Genk this season, contributing goals in domestic competitions while also gaining experience in European football through the UEFA Europa League.

Bibout represented Cameroon at U17 level in 2021, where he was regarded as one of the promising young forwards of his generation. His progress in Europe is now placing him firmly on the radar for future senior national team opportunities with the Indomitable Lions.

Reports of Chelsea scouts attending Genk’s game further underline the growing reputation of the young striker. The London club has increasingly focused on recruiting emerging talents from around the world, and Bibout’s development trajectory appears to fit that profile perfectly.

Although no official approach or negotiations have been confirmed, the interest from Chelsea is another major milestone in Bibout’s fast-rising career. From Cameroon’s youth national setup to attracting attention from one of England’s biggest clubs, the young forward’s journey continues to gather momentum.
