Soh Simplice has stepped down from his role as head coach of Dynamo de Douala, bringing an end to his stint with the Littoral-based side. The decision was formally communicated to club officials on Monday, barely 24 hours after the team’s defeat to Unisport de Bafang in their final match of the first round of the championship.
Soh joined the likes of Yves Clement Arroga and Souleymane Aboubakar who are no longer at the club they started this season with.
The departure follows a noticeable dip in form after what had been a promising start to the season. Dynamo initially built momentum playing their home matches at the annex facility in Bepanda, where results were consistently positive. However, their form began to decline after the club opted to switch venues to the Bepanda main stadium—a move that coincided with a downturn in performances and results.
By the end of the first round, Dynamo had slipped to 7th position in the standings, prompting internal reflections that ultimately led to Soh’s exit. Sources suggest the decision was mutual, with both coach and club acknowledging the need for a fresh direction ahead of the second phase of the campaign.
Soh departs with a solid reputation within the domestic game. The former head coach of Panthère du Ndé achieved one of the best first round performance of Dynamo since their return to the topflight four seasons ago.
Attention now turns to his likely successor, with former Canon Yaoundé and Coton Sport FC de Garoua trainer Jean Baptiste Bisseck in advanced talks with the club. His appointment and that of Alain Belibi as his assistant could be finalized in the coming days as Dynamo look to steady their season
