  •  The Association of Football Referees has written a letter of complain to the Secretary General of the Presidency over unpaid allowances
  • The letter states that the referees have not received their match payments for the 2024-2025 season as well as an unsettled debt owed to them by FECAFOOT
  •  The referees highlighted that FECAFOOT has received the allowances, but the referees themselves have yet to receive payment

Following a pause in their allowances, the Cameroon Association of Football Referees has written to Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic of Cameroon, to express their frustration and concerns over unpaid allowances.

According to the letter, the referees have not received their match allowances for the 2024-2025 season, despite the end of the first phase of the championships. This situation has become increasingly worrying, and the referees are warning of serious consequences on the smooth running of the various competitions.

The referees are demanding the payment of their allowances, as well as the settlement of the debt owed to them by the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT). They are also seeking their reintegration into the decentralized leagues as statutory members, in accordance with Article 42 of the Law of 11th of July 2018, on the organization and promotion of physical and sports activities in Cameroon.

“We have the honor of informing you that to date, referees have still not received their allowances, while the championships have almost all ended their first phase,” “This situation is becoming increasingly worrying and could have serious consequences on the smooth running of the various competitions,” reads the letter.

The referees are calling for urgent attention to be paid to their situation in order to avoid dissatisfaction among the referees. They are also denouncing other abuses suffered by referees since the arrival of the new executive at the head of FECAFOOT.

They also stated that the Cameroon Football Federation has already received the state subsidy intended for referee payments, but the referees are yet to receive their allowances, which has led to disappointment among the referees, and towards the federation.
