  • Union Sportif of Douala have ended their collaboration with six of their players
  • Franck Yvan and five others said bye to the rest of the squad this Wednesday
  • The club is expected to make new additions ahead of the new season

Union Sportif of Douala have parted ways with experience defender Franck Yvan Pierre Djessi and six others as part of efforts to make way for the arrival of better quality players during the January window which opened last week.

Defender Djessi, Tetek Djebayi Makon, Oumar Yassine, Luc Andre Bakinde, Elizabeth Ntsam Ndongo and Kiki Beyong Nkwachan were all informed of the termination of their contracts on Wednesday, January 8.

According to sources at the club, the players in question have been deemed underperforming by head coach Anicet Mbarga Foe, thus obliging Union Sportif management to part company with the players.

This move has already seen Samuel Elimbi and Ali Bitoro complete a move to the club to reinforce the squad and end the current poor run they are experiencing.

The Nasara Gamakai have endured a struggle start to the 2024/25 MTN Elite One championship season, winning just two and registering a draw in their opening six matches of the season. The club lost to Colombe at home last time out and is currently preparing to face fellow strugglers PWD of Bamenda in match day seven of the MTN Elite One championship this Sunday.

The multiple Cameroon champions have tasked coach Anicet Mbarga Foe to win the next two games to consolidate his place as the lead trainer of the side.
