Indomitable Lions of Cameroon quartet Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa, Frank Mario Magri, Bryan Tetsadong Marceau Mbeumo and Simon Brady Ngapandouetnbu have left Douala this morning for Yaoundé on board a Camairco passenger plane.
The four players who arrived Cameroon on Monday night via an Air France bus after the departure of the last domestic flight passed the night at The Best Western Gates under the supervision of Team manager Danny Nounkeu before continuing the camp venue in Yaoundé.
The plane carrying the four players left Douala at 10:20AM and arrived Yaoundé just before 11AM.
They were quickly whisked to their Hilton are expected to join their 12 colleagues who passed the night at the government provided Hotel.
Their move to Yaoundé means they join 12 other players who arrived earlier and boycotted FECAFOOT’s offer to host them at
The following players are passed the night at the Hilton Hotel; Vincent Aboubakar, Michael Ngadeu, Christian Bassogog, Collins Faï, Martin Hongla, Simon Omossola, Georges Kevin Nkoudou,Carlos Baleba, Jules Armand Kooh, Jackson Tchatchoua, Boris Enow, André Onana, Didier Lamkel Ze while Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa, Frank Magri, Bryan Mbeumo and Simon Ngapandouetnbu are in Douala but will connect to Yaoundé this morning.
Preparations for these game have been marked by at an atmosphere of uncertainty and controversy which has dragged for over a month.
The a tussle between the Cameroon FA and the Ministry of Sports over who is in charge of the Indomitable Lions has made it difficult to determine the match venue till the time of this report. Government says they want the game at the country’s political capital while the Federation wants it in Garoua.
The five-time African champions will face Namibia at home on the 7th of September before travelling to confront Zimbabwe away in Uganda in their second Group Group J game on September 10.
Cameroon is placed in Group J of the qualifiers, along with Namibia, Kenya, and Zimbabwe.
The full squad picked by coach Marc Brys to begin the search for a ticket to Morocco includes three Goalkeepers, eight defenders, five midfielders and eight forwards.
