The 2021 bronze medalist were spotted training with the team, a day after their win over the Gambia at the Stade du lycee technique de Bouake

Aboubakar had sustained a thigh injury on the eve of the Lion’s first AFCON game against Guinea and was given ten days for recuperation

Clinton Njie on his part, was announced unfit on the eve of the second game against Senegal and, like Aboubakar was not part of the lion’s group stage campaign.

Their return is good news for Rigobert song who is in dire need of Aboubakar’s goal scoring prowess, as they have struggled to find the net from open play.

All of their five goals in the qualifying campaign have been headers, and two of them have been scored by defenders from set pieces.

Clinton Njie’s experience playing against Nigeria way back in 2019, will come handy, in their quest for a second berth on Ivorian soil.

The team will leave for Abidjan this Thursday to continue training ahead of Saturday’s game at the Felix Houpouet Boigny stadium
