The Nigeria U-20 national team returned to winning ways with a 1-0 win over South Sudan.

The U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) bronze medalist had lost their opening group game 2-1 to Uganda.

In the second game, they had to dig deep to secure a 1-0 victory against South Sudan.

It was a keenly contested encounter but the Nigerian side got the winner as the game was approaching the end.

In the 80th minute, Sadiq Isyaka scored the winning goal from the penalty spot.

The win lifted Nigeria to the second place in Group B with three points.

Uganda tops the log with a maximum of six points.

Up next for Ladan Boso’s side is their last group game with Senegal.
