Cotonsport players return home on Monday, August 21 on the heel of their goalless draw against Real in Bamako. With this result, the Cotonites led by coach Christophe Ousmanou need any sort of win to advance to the second preliminary rounds of the competition.
The current Cameroon champions have been one of the most consistent clubs in the sub region in the past few seasons.
The Garoua outfit has reached the group stage of the CAF interclub competitions in each of the past five seasons.
Cotonsport’s last home defeat in the preliminaries of the CAF interclub competitions dates back to January 13, 2019 when they lost 2-3 to Kumasi Asante Kotoko in a home game of the CAF Confederation Cup that was played in Yaoundé.
