Fovu of Baham are through to their first cup of Cameroon final in 13 years after a hard-earned 12-11 semi-final win against Colombe of Dja this Saturday at the end of a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.

Junior Mbandji was the hero for Fovu as he had Colombe’s Randy Ntube and Thierry Aleuko’s penalties saved while Nkuissi Legrand of Fovu missed his, though they reached the third final in history.

The Yongwa boys had to come from behind to edge Colombe and deny them a first cup final in their history.

Richard Ebanda put Colombe ahead after six minutes, driving home a ball from a well-worked corner that left Mbandji rooted to the spot and put Colombe ahead.

Hopes of a first cup of Cameroon final in over six decades of existence made the South Region outfit even more flamboyant in their play.

Colombe’s took control of the game, dominated and displayed a very exciting football for the most part of the opening 20 minutes but Francois Desire Disso’s men couldn’t get the second.

Fovu gree into the game from around the half hour mark, multiplying incursions but failed to break down the Colombe backline marshalled by Aleuko.

Ngondji Armel came close to beating Souleymane Souleymane on goal for Colombe but his half hour mark effort went inches off target.

Valentine Beo Batto was close to scoring the second for Colombe he whipped in a great set-piece ball but Mbianji was vigilant enough to put the ball away.

Colombe kept the lead till the interval, of but was walking on tied ropes as Fovu pressed for the equalizer.

Ngondji finally dragged Fovu back into the game when he scored the equalizer from a well taken low shot that beat Souleymane at the 53rd minute.

Though Fovu pushed to win it in regular time, it wasn’t to be as Aleuko and co put up a great defensive performance till the end.

Serge Ledoux, Junior Rostand Mbai, Yves Ngangue and Didier Mayindu who all came in with penalties in mind converted theirs but Colombe fell short due to misses from Kwalar and Aleuko as against one miss from Nkuissi

Fovu won 12-11 to advance to the final against PWD of Bamenda who had defeated minos Stade Bandjoun FC by 2-1 earlier in the day.
