FA Cup : Jide Jimoh’s hat-trick inspires Sunshine Stars 4-0 Humiliation of Adamimogo

Sunshine Stars Fc pounded Adamimogo Football club 4-0 at the Ondo state sports complex, Akure, to lift the 2023 state FA cup shield in style.

The Edith Agoye tutored side started the game on Wednesday on a positive note at the backline and midfield , but was unable to connect and create clear cut chances in the early stage of the encounter.

At the half hour mark, stars increased the tempo in search of an opener and the high pressing paid off in the 36th minutes when Temitope Vincent had the goalkeeper to beat but his effort sailed

In the 42nd minutes Ibrahim Yusuf thought he had given Sunshine stars the opening goal as he watched his chip hit pole allowing Adamimogo’s central defender clearing off danger.The first 45 minutes ended goalless.

On resumption into the second 45 minutes Sunshine Stars gaffer made two tactical changes, Temitope Vincent made way for Jide Jimoh while Chukwude Stephen replaced Seun Olulayo .

It took Jide Jimoh 13 minutes of play to announce his presence in style as he scored the opener for Sunshine stars to silence fans of Adamimogo Fc .

Jide Jimoh again scored the second goal for Sunshine stars five minutes after jubilating his first for stars to give Sunshine stars a comfortable lead .

Adamimogo FC mounted pressure to get a consolation but were perfectly stopped by the backline of Sunshine stars .

In the 80th minutes , Ajagbe AbdulAziz was replaced by Michael Olalusi while Promise Awosanmi came in for Ibrahim Yusuf

Few minutes later Muritala Lawal was pulled off with Abe Sunday replacing him.

The introduction however changed the tempo of the game , deservedly the 3rd goal arrived in the 86th minutes , this time Chukwude Stephen shaking the net.

Sunshine stars never stopped at 3 goals, the team added a 4th in the 88th minutes , Jide Jimoh converting from the spot superbly to score his hat-trick and seal a comfortable 4-Nil win for Sunshine stars.

Coach Akin Olowookere , who spoke on behalf of Edith Agoye after the tie commended Sunshine stars for sealing the win in style.

“It’s a good one from our boys , and I’m satisfied with the result , the opponent gave a good account of themselves but it’s obvious they just can’t withstand Sunshine stars.”
