- PE Aubameyang scored a hat-trick to add to his rich scoring record in the UEFA Europa League as he takes his tally to 29, a goal behind record man Radamel Falcao

Gabonese football legend, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang scored a hat-trick to help French Ligue 1 giants, Olympique Marseille to a marrow 4-3 win against 10-man Ajax Amsterdam on Thursday in the pan ultimate UEFA Europa League group stage game this season.
Aubameyang scored two penalties, including a 93rd win in the game Brian Ebenezer Adjei Brobbey’s double and Chuba Akpom’s goal failed to fetch a return for the visitors.
Ajax finished the game with ten men following the sending off of Steven Berghuis after 63 minutes. A situation which didn’t help their course on a tough night at the Velodrome.
Aubameyang put the hosts ahead after nine minutes, but the lead didn’t last as Brobbey replied almost immediately for John van’t Schip’s team.
Gennaro Gattuso’s Olympique Marseille restored their advantage after 26 minutes, courtesy of a goal from Congolese defender Chancel Mbemba. Again Brobbey replied with the equalizer at the half hour mark.
Aubameyang then scored just after the interval and in added time to win it for the 1993 UEFA champions League champions despite an Akpom goal for Ajax Amsterdam in the 63rd minute.
Mughe watched the entire game from the bench as it finished 4-3 in favor of Marseille, who go just above Brighton and Hove Albion atop Group B going into the final round of matches in which they will clash in England.
Strange enough, all seven goals on the night were scored by African descent players as Akpom has Nigerian roots as well as Brobbey is of Ghanian parentage.
