The Head coach of Cotonsport of Garoua Jean Baptiste Bisseck and defense man Frank Baho, have guaranteed the team’s readiness to beat Canon Yaounde and grab their 18th title as they face 11 time champion, Canon sportive of Yaoundé in the last day of the MTN Elite one playoffs.

The crucial encounter which may decide Cameroon’s champion will take place at the Reunification stadium in Bepanda-Douala on Sunday, May 21.

As it stand, the Cotonites are a step away from grabbing the title as they lead the table of four teams with six points.

Coach Jean Baptiste makes his words clear and admits he is former coach of Canon but now has a new team to lead to the title but it remains an advantage to him since he knows the opponent better.

“I have an objective and that is to lead Cotonsport to the title. Yes, I’m former coach of Canon and to me it’s a plus because I now know the two teams well and their capabilities.

“No one thought Cotonsport could make it to the playoffs my little effort was good enough to bring us this far. Even if we do not emerge champions tomorrow, work continues,” The gaffer added.

Questioned on whether his former trainee, Emmanuel Mahop may be his biggest challenge and threat in this crucial encounter, he had this to say;

“I appreciate first of all the work done at canon with Mevoa and team…about Mahop, I’m happy my efforts is recognized and that I brought good players to the team but what matters now is that I’m with Cotonsport and I assure you I have confidence in the strikers I train now,” Coach Jean-Baptiste added.

Equally, defence man Franck Baho expressed positivity and readiness for this encounter, though he hasn’t been a very regular starter for the club this season.

“Even if I don’t play, my teammates are ready and have what it takes to execute the task as instructed by our coaches,” Franck Baho.

Cotonsport of Garoua needs just a draw against Canon to emerge champion. Meanwhile the latter must emerge victors with at least two goals to win it.

They have been programmed for the second final clash at 5:30pm.
