Elite One: Nchindo John Bosco scores third goal of the season as YOSA inflicts third consecutive defeat on Fovu

Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda have picked up their second victory of the season thanks to a first half penalty scored by Yong Nchang Nchindo John Bosco against Fovu of Baham.

Played at the Bamendzi stadium in Bafoussam, Yong Sports Academy came into the match after the defeat inflicted on them by Victoria United.

Coach Ndikum Blaise of Yong Sports Academy started the match with center back Hamid Hamza Hamidou playing as the striker alongside Nchindo John Bosco while Mungala Silus started at the defense line.

YOSA’s starting XI against Fovu

18-year-old youngstar Mujibu Rahaman Mohammed created the first chance for Yong Sports Academy with his dazzling run from the flanks where he found Nchindo John Bosco whose shot hit the goal post.

Fovu of Baham through Hansi Mbappe Muller came close to opening scores against the run of play but goalkeeper Yindui Amido Muhammed was vigilant to make the save.

Makeshift centre forward Hamid Hamza Hamidou was brought down inside the 18-yard area and the referee awarded YOSA the penalty. Team captain, Nchindo John Bosco stepped up to send goalkeeper Junior Mbiandji the wrong way as YOSA took a one goal lead into the break.

Upon resumption of the second half, coach Ndoumbe Bosso of Fovu conducted three substitutions with Wilfred Nana coming in to add some flare in Fovu’s attacking third.

Stephan Ikpeme came close on two occasions but his long range shots went off target.

Fovu’s starting XI against YOSA

Nchindo John Bosco, Njibero Durell, Mujibu Rahaman Mohammed and Lekunze Kelvin Tah all came close to doubling scores for YOSA late in the game but goalkeeper Junior Mbiandji made the saves as Yong Sports Academy grabbed vital three points away from home.

The victory takes YOSA to 8 points. They have won two matches, with two draws and four defeats.

Nchindo John Bosco has now scored three goals for Yong Sports Academy this season.
