Avion Academy of Douala have been relegated to the second tier of Cameroon football following a decision by the Homologation and Disciplinary Commission of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) to deduct three points they had initially allocated them for complaining against the use of Collins Ashie Achette by UMS of Loum against them.

This Friday, April 28 kick442.com stumbled on a decision which overturns an initial ruling from the same institution allocating three points to Avion Academy some three weeks ago.

The body maintained the portion April 5 decision which sanctions UMS of Loum by deduction of three points but modified the ruling such that Avion Academy doesn’t get the three points deducted as stated in article 138 of the competition’s regulations.

This move reduces Avion’s points tally to 19 and drags them to the bottom of Group A with one game left.

So even if Avion Academy beat Aigle Royal this weekend they will be relegated due to their inferior head-to-head returns compared to the other sides battling against the drop.

Avion Academy will challenge Aigle Royal at the Kouekong stadium in Bafoussam this weekend having this development in mind.

Avion’s relegation ends her five-year stay in the top-flight championship as they were promoted alongside PWD of Bamenda and TKC of Yaounde.
