Coach Akosemoh Theodore has resigned from his role as head coach of Yong Sport Academy of Bamenda this Monday March 3, 24 hours after their goalless draw against Aigle Royal of Moungo.
The trainer that took over as head coach of the club at the start of this season in October announced his resignation this morning.
“Permit me start by thanking the management for the opportunity given to me to head the Technical team of this honourable and emblematic club.”
“It is rather unfortunate that I cannot continue as head of the technical bench for reasons best known to me that I have decided not to make public. It was a difficult decision to make but I have no choice,” coach Theodore stated.
Though the club seems to be in serious trouble, the outgoing trainer provided some words of encouragement to the stakeholders;
“I still have the conviction that given that the league is still ope and there are still two matches before the end of the first round, YOSA still has 90% chances to be maintained in the Cameroon professional League one, given the cream of players we have.”
Coach Akosemoh Theodore guided the 2024 MTN Elite One second vice champions through 13 games this season, during which they only registered one win and three in what has been a forgettable season so far.
His resignation leaves the management of the club with the responsibility of finding someone to step in immediately and try to quick fix as they are seven points off the first non-direct relegation positions.
A new era will begin this Wednesday as YOSA will face Canon Yaoundé away from home in what will be the first post-Akosemoh Theodore era.
Though the coach is now part of the past, many observers are of the opinion that the club’s management, especially it’s presidential seat needs fixing at the moment.
