Otis Ngoma, the head coach of the local National team of DR Congo has included experience striker Jean Marc Makusu Mundele in his country’s squad of 28 players for the 2022 African Nations championship, CHAN schedule from next weekend in Algeria.
The tactician made public the list this Monday during a press conference in which he brought fought arguments substantiating his choices.
After weeks of hard-work with an enlarged squad, Otis is narrowing down his squad to the best productive shape and size for what awaits them in group D.
The squad which has three goalkeepers; Siadi Baggio of TP Mazembe, Motema Pembe’s Hervé Lomboto and Yves Mukawa.
The team’s defenders are Mazembe trio; Djo Issama, Ernest Luzolo and Kevin Mondeko. Vita and Lupopo have two players each.
It is a squad of nine defenders mostly picked from giants TP Mazembe and Vita Club to complement a star-studded midfield and front line from the same institutions.
2011 and 2016 winners of the CHAN DR Congo will travel to Tunis to continue preparations and take the tempo of North Africa, before moving to Algeria for the real business from the second week of January.
DR Congo have been to all but one of the previous editions of the competition. They reached the last eight last time in Cameroon.
DR Congo are up against Cote D’Ivoire, Senegal and Uganda in group B.
The 18 nations competition begins on January 14 and run for three weeks.
