Champions league Qualifier: Ngom Bekeli scores debut goal as Sheriff eliminates Farul

Jerome Ngom Bekeli marks a positive start to his stay at Sheriff Tiraspol by scoring the in the club’s 3-0 win over Romanian side, Farul Constanta in the UEFA champions league qualifier.

The Cameroon International joined the club on July 5 and made his debut in the Champions league qualification first leg match against Farul Constanta last week.

The return leg encounter sees Bekeli net in the second goal for Sheriff at the 99th minute to gelp the club grab a 3-0 win over the Romanian side, and eventually recording a 3-1 aggregate win.

The 24-year-old was involved in this encounter for 113 minutes before he was brought out for defense man Adamou Ibrahim Djibo.

The speedy forward joined Sheriff Tiraspol on a two-year deal from SK Beveren after just one season spent at the Belgian top tier club where they finished second in the Challenger Pro league.

Farul reached the qualifying rounds of the Champions League for the second time in their history, having lifted the Romanian Liga 1 title for the first time last season but have been denied the chance of making the next stage by the Moldovan Champions.

Bekeli’s side has now been unbeaten in their last 10 home games in all competitions, having won 7 of those, since the loss to Nice in the Europa Conference League.

Sheriff Tiraspol won four Qualifying games to make the Champions League Group Stage two years ago for the first time and last season they were able to reach the third qualifying round before been booted out by Viktoria Plzen.

From Colombe of the Dja and Lobo right up to the Cameroon senior national team, Bekeli has now been expose to the world and making a name in Europe, thanks to his performance during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
