The Central African Republic will host its AFCON 2023 qualifier matches in Douala, Cameroon’s economic capital.

The Wild Beasts who were in camp in Douala will take on Madagascar this Thursday, March 23, before playing the reverse fixture in Douala on Monday, March 27, 2023, at the Reunification stadium in Douala.

The Central African Republic currently occupies the third position in Group E with one point the same number of points as Madagascar who occupy the bottom spot in the group.

During the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, CAR played some matches at the Japoma stadium in Douala.

Worthy of note is the fact that the Central African Republic has never participated in the AFCON tournament and will be hoping to do that while playing their home matches in Douala, Cameroon. They have only attempted the qualification stage but failed to sail through to the final tournament.

The CAR will be counting on the experience of experienced midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia who was named in the squad.
