Cameroon is in Morocco to take part in the first edition of the African Women’s Futsal Cup of Nations. The competition kicks off on Tuesday 22 April 2025 and will run until 30 April 2025.
The Indomitable Lionesses will play in Group A alongside hosts Morocco and Namibia. Group B includes Angola, Egypt and Guinea, while Group C features Senegal, Tanzania and Madagascar.
The coach of the national women’s futsal team, Louis René EPÉE, cherishes the dream of making Cameroon shine on the African stage, while leaving a lasting imprint on the history of women’s futsal. Indeed, in an interview with Cafonline, he stressed that
“To progress with any certainty in this competition, we need to get a good result against Morocco. If we don’t win, a draw could keep us in the running. But our real objective is to win”.
The Cameroonian coach added: “This African Cup of Nations is a new avenue for social, sporting and cultural advancement. There is a general impatience to see how we will perform in this competition, as much for the results as for the pleasure of playing“.
