Cameroon has been ceded in pot three of the 2023 Women’s world handball championship draw, slated for July 6, 2023.

The team, who qualified for this handball world showpiece by virtue of finishing second in the 2022 African women’s handball championship in Senegal, shares pot with Serbia, Japan, Ukraine , Greenland, Argentina, Angola, and People’s Republic of China.

In for a four appearance, the country’s best finish in this 32 nations tournament was in Germany in 2017, where she obtained the 20th position.

Aware of the team’s lapses in global competitions, the Cameroon handball federation has been pulling strings in terms of partnerships with other federations, capacity building workshops for trainers and staff, all in preparations for the special event in Denmark, Norway and Sweden between November 30 and December 17, 2023.

This will be the third time in handball history that the championship is jointly hosted, the first in Sweden, and also the first to be played in three countries.

Other African representatives Senegal and Congo are in pot four. All these four continental flag bearers will know their opponents by July 6.
