  • Brys would be assisted by Joachim Mununga and Giannis Xilouris who form part of trio in the €40 000 per month
  • He has agreed to stay in Cameroon during the duration of his contract

Recently appointed Cameroon head coach Marc Brys has squashed suggestions he is working without a contract while revealing the salary that binds him and his deputies of the Indomitable Lions staff.

A month after signing his engagement letter in a ceremony in Yaoundé, reports had started emerging that the 61-year-old who spent the past two weeks touring Europe to meet Cameroon players was unhappy.

The kick442.com editorial team has obtained via an interview with French tabloid ‘Le Monde’ stating the coach and two of his deputies Joachim Mununga and Giannis Xilouris have an allocation of €40 000 (approximately 26.2 Million FCFA) as monthly salary for the next two-and-half years of their running contract.

“I have read somewhere that I have not signed a contract. But I do have one! I am open to discussion, attentive, positive, but the locker room is the place of the coach, his technical staff and the players, and into which neither the sports ministry nor Fecafoot enters.”

Coach Brys who is expected to earn a Lion share of the cash and pay the rest to his deputies will be entirely paid by the state but he remains keen on having all parties on board.

The trainer is yet to meet president Samuel Eto’o Fils of the Cameroon football federation (FECAFOOT) who missed his unveiling ceremony, but remains optimistic about the future despite the acts of his rejection perpetrated by the Federation.

“I am ready to work with the federation and its president, in the interest of the selection and the country.

“I hope to meet him, like I said before. But I’m not the type to chase people, because I have to focus on the team and players for the next games,” Marc Brys explained.

kick442.com reported earlier in the day that Samuel Eto’o has been instructed to complete formalities for registration of Marc Brys as Cameroon’s coach and prepare grounds for him to work for the good of the nation.

He is expected to return to Cameroon this weekend to heighten preparations for Cameroon’s double fixture against Cape Verde Island in Douala and Angola in Luanda.
