Northwest based Chin Valentine Nyuysemo has been crowned Assistant Referee of the year during the annual Referees Association awards organized this Saturday in Bafoussam.
Chin who was voted best assistant Referee during the 2022 Guinness Super League award last year scooped the latest accolade ahead of Nanawa Victoire and Tsafack Laure with whom she shared last season’s Guinness Super League award.
The trio had an outstanding season but their peers and the jury settled for Chin as the best of all.
Promoted to the Guinness Super League on the hills of an outstanding 2019 season in which she was named best Assistant Referee, Chin has grown from strength to strength over the years.
The latest feat highlights how far she has come in a trade many young girls neglected in the past.
Lady Chin shared the podium with fellow Northwest Referee Chia Allen who was named best Referee in the second tier championship.
Guimbang Aline A Etong backed home the best female Referee award while the best male Referee and assistant in Elite One went to Bito Jeanot and Etoa Toto respectively.
Fouane Brondon was named best Assistant Referee in Elite 2.
