Former Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winners Cameroon and Zambia played out an exciting goalless draw in their last pre-tournament friendly this Tuesday, January 9 in Saudi Arabia.

Rigobert Song’s men had to come from behind to ensure it finished in a parity score after expected AFCON sensation Patson Daka had put the 2012 champions ahead just 11 minutes into the clash.

The Indomitable Lions were unlucky not to level at the 20th minute of the game when towering defender Harold Moukoudi Dersty was denied the equalizer by the woodwork.

Darling Zidan Yongwa leveled matters two minutes later off an assist from Moumi Ngamaleu.

Both sides had chances to score again during the rest of the afternoon but it wasn’t to be.

Despite the numerous changes from both sides in the second segment there wasn’t another goal, thus leaving the game on a 1-1 score at the blast of the final whistle.

Both nations travel to Côte D’Ivoire for the 34th edition of the AFCON to kick-off this January 13 and run to February 11 across six venues in the West African nation.

Cameroon are in group C alongside Senegal, Guinea and The Gambia while Zambia will battle with Morocco, Tanzania and DR Congo in group F.
